Élise Gervais, Physiotherapist
Élise graduated from Laurentian University with a bachelor of science in biology majoring in biomedical sciences. She is also aUniversity of Ottawa graduate, having completed her Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy. She has taken courses in Mulligan (mobilisations with movement), manual therapy, trigger point dry needling, sports rehabilitation, and soft tissue release. She has also worked for the soccer association in hull providing treatments and doing some taping to needed players. Élise is a real believer in hands on treatments to really work the tissue and get to the bottom of the issues.
Élise has 17 years of athletic experience through sports and exercise. She has played basketball, softball, soccer, floor hockey, volleyball and also has participated in track and field, cross-country running, swimming and rowing. For the last year she has been doing CrossFit at the gym and has participated in the CrossFit open in 2011 and 2012. She has also taught swimming lessons of different levels and aquafitness classes for the last nine years. As an exercise enthusiast herself, she understands the importance of fitness and pain free well being.
Veronique Yeon, Physiotherapist
Véronique graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Masters of Physiotherapy (2010) and a Bachelors in Human Kinetics (2008). She has worked in the private sector with orthopedic injuries (sport injuries, post surgery, balance issues, etc) and has also worked in a hospital setting as a physiotherapist.
Véronique believes in a hands on approach and being able to give her clients the essential tools to self-manage their injuries. She uses a variety of manual techniques, as well as functional movements and exercises to help clients return to optimal function. She is a certified Mackenzie Part B therapist and certified in neuro-proprioceptive taping (kinesio-taping). Véronique is also pursuing her level 2 manual therapy certifications with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
Originally from Ottawa, Véronique grew up in Orléans. She has always had a love for sports and health. She has played competitive soccer and volleyball for many years. She was a personal trainer with the University of Ottawa for 3 years. Véronique is also a Level 1 Crossfit trainer
Both physiotherapists can offer physiotherapy services in both French and English.
